Setbacks, delays, and the future

Greats everyone,

We hope you all are doing well. We must apologize for not giving updates as much as we would like. However that is because we were hard at work, working on a Limbo Search update, our new game, and updates to Limbo Cash. All of that is lost because on August 15th, 2022, our main hard drive as well as several of our backup hard drives failed. We still don’t know the reason for the failure but we just know that all the data on the drives were lost. This led to losing most of our work over the past couple of months. We’ve been trying for the past month to recover the data on our drives but we have been unable to do so.

So what now?
The update for Limbo Search has been pushed back until the Spring of 2023. As for the new game we’ve had to push that back until late 2022 or early 2023. As for Limbo Cash, we planned to upgrade the protocol in the winter anyhow. So we’ve moved the update proposal up.

What does that mean for the future of Limbo Cash?
We plan to move from Tron to Near if the voting proposal passes. If it does this will allow us to program much as Near is coded with Rust and JavaScript. If the proposal does pass the exchange rate for Limbo Cash will be 0.1 Near which at the current price would increase LSI by about $0.019. We would also create a bridge that allows users to transfer from the Tron network to Near.
This also means we would update Limbo Exchange and Limbo Staking to the Near Protocol too. However should the update proposal not pass we’ll have to scrap the staking UI and make a new one.

Regardless of the setbacks that happened, we’re looking toward the future and we hope you’ll join us.

Best Regards,
The Limbo Studios Inc. Team.
